Balfour Beatty, the contractor responsible for the design and construction of the A9 Dualling: Tomatin to Moy project, is running a programme of ‘Meet the Contractor’ events in November for local residents to learn about the major construction works scheduled to begin in Spring 2025.
Balfour Beatty will offer local residents the opportunity to meet with key people from their project team and ask questions, to learn first-hand about the many benefits the project will bring to the surrounding communities and to find out more about traffic management plans during the construction period.
The event in Tomatin will also involve a ‘family friendly’ afternoon and evening session, with interactive educational activities and refreshments.
The events will be supported by senior team members from Balfour Beatty and their designer, Mott Macdonald, as well as representatives from Transport Scotland and their advisors AtkinsRéalis-WSP Joint Venture.
Details of the events are as follows:
- UHI House, Raigmore – Thursday 14 November, 8am – 8pm
- Strathdearn Community Hub, Tomatin – Tuesday 19 November, 8am – 8pm
- Online event

Parking at Raigmore will be provided and the family friendly afternoon and refreshments as part of the Tomatin event will start from 3.15pm.
David Taylor, Project Manager at Balfour Beatty said: “ 'Meet the Contractor' events are an essential part of our commitment to keeping local communities informed and engaged as we begin preparatory works on the A9 Dualling: Tomatin to Moy project.
“We look forward to welcoming residents for a unique opportunity to speak directly with our project team, understand the scope of the work, and learn about the safety measures and traffic management plans we will have in place to keep the travelling public safe throughout construction.”
Balfour Beatty will provide regular updates as the project progresses. You can sign up for digital updates from the contractor here.
